Tips and Ideas for Nutrient Rich Enrichment

Licking mats are one of my favorite tools they are an easy and affordable way to deliver enrichment and a healthy treat to you fur baby! They come in many different sizes perfect for portioning out the perfect amount of food based on your dog’s caloric intake. Majority of them come with suction cups on the bottom perfect for preventing slip so your dog can really go at it and limit the messes. A bonus is sticking them to the side of the wall during bath time!

Why is it so important to provide your dog with enrichment? Well, the same way humans feel the need to go for a run, enjoy playing a game or doing a puzzle, and put on a fun show to watch, dogs also need exercise and mental stimulation. An activity and treat like a lick mat can alleviate the boredom that might be causing chewing on furniture or other forbidden items and excessive barking. And the same way parents may slip vegetables into their children’s meals, you as dog parents can add a mixture of highly nutritious foods to help your dog get the most out of their treat.
